How To Keep Your Pipes From Freezing This Season

6. If the water pipes are freezing inside the exterior wall, cut an opening in the wall to expose the pipes to the home's warm air. Insulate with spray foam insulation both behind the pipes, between the pipes, and the home's exterior wall. The hole in the wall can be covered later with a hinged door or a panel that can be removed during cold spells.
7. Insulate your exterior walls. Caulk and seal around doors, windows, house faucets, and outside outlets.

While there are a few band-aid solutions to keep your home from being cold and your pipes from freezing during the winter, these band-aid solutions will only protect you for so long.
